Tax Deductible Contributions to Illegal Israeli Settlements
The Associated Press reports that an Israeli group raising funds for Jewish extremists convicted in some of the country’s most notorious hate crimes is collecting tax-exempt donations from Americans. This follows on a practice of tax-exempt donations from the United States being used to fund land theft and illegal settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.
The Palestinian led Defund Racism campaign works with groups in North America to identify donors who are illegally and immorally using the tax code to fund the settlements.
Truthout reported on the Boycott Duty Free America campaign. Duty-Free America stores in airports across the country, owned by the Falic Family, sustain Israeli apartheid by giving millions of dollars every year to Israeli settler organizations. This support dispossesses Palestinians of their homes and land, and funds programs that fuel settler violence and promotes racial segregation between Palestinians and Jews.
Truthout and The Electronic Intifada report on additional organizations which are funding the settlements with tax deductible contributions.
